Ready to step outside your comfort zone, think on your feet, and have a whole lot of fun?
Improv Acting 1 is the perfect introduction to the art of improvisation. In this six-week course, you'll learn the core principles of improv comedy while building confidence, creativity, communication skills, and stage presence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
No experience is necessary—just a willingness to jump in and have fun. The course culminates with a student showcase where you'll have the opportunity to perform for family and friends.
This class takes place in person at the Just The Funny Theater & Training Center.

Ever wanted to write comedy sketches like Saturday Night Live, MadTV, Key & Peele, or In Living Color?
In this 7-week course, you'll learn how to turn funny ideas into fully developed comedy sketches that audiences will love.
From commercial parodies and character-driven scenes to punchlines, structure, and endings that land, you'll learn the fundamentals of sketch writing from the ground up.
Along the way, you'll write at least six original sketches, receive feedback from experienced instructors, and watch your work come to life as it's performed in class.
Whether you're interested in comedy writing, performing, content creation, or simply exploring your creative side, this course will give you the tools and confidence to bring your ideas to life.

Have you ever dreamed of stepping up to the mic and making a room full of strangers laugh?
In this 6-week course, you'll learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy, from joke writing and stage presence to finding your unique comedic voice.
You'll develop original material, discover what makes you funny, and build a stand-up set that's authentic to your personality and perspective—the same way great comedians develop material that's uniquely their own.
Along the way, you'll receive feedback, practice performing, and gain the confidence to take the stage.
The course culminates in a live student showcase where you'll perform your material in front of a real audience.

All of our classes are taught at the Just The Funny Theater & Training Center, located at 3119 Coral Way; Miami, Florida 33145.

All of our Improv Acting and Sketch Writing classes are 2 and 1/2 hours in length. They usually run from 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm on weeknights, except Wednesday and Friday. Some classes may run at other days and times, please check our CLASSES page

Each Improv Acting and Sketch Writing session is 7 classes in length and meets once per week, unless offered as an intensive. Each Stand Up Comedy class is 6 classes in length.

At the end of each session, every one of our classes has a student performance on the Just The Funny stage. We know that learning improv and sketch in class is great, but performing what you have learned for friends and family is applying what you have learned for a supportive audience.

Yes! When you complete a level, handed out on the night of your student performance, you will receive a certificate of completion with your name on it!

All of our classes are interactive in nature and require that our students push themselves as part of the learning process. To have an audience, even of auditing potential students, inhibits our students and the learning process. So we do not allow auditing of our classes. Equally, our students take our classes and commit to the learning process. To have potential students trying out classes lessens the learning process and keeps everyone from having a consistent experience. As such, we do not allow potential students to try out classes.

Every improv and sketch school has their own unique and wonderful way of teaching the craft. What may be taught in one, may not be taught in another. What may be level one at a school, may be taught in another level at another school. All of our Improv Acting classes lead from one level into another, building on what students have learned in the previous level, working from beginning to performance level.

We know that from time to time students will have to miss a class or two. Our classes are designed to review previous classes, so that students can easily catch up, if they missed a class, or can just get a refresher of the last class. However, if you have to miss more than 3 classes, we will hold your graduation and give you a credit to repeat the class at no extra charge.

We offer our paid and current improv and sketch students free admittance to all Just The Funny shows at the Just The Funny Theater & Training Center, except special events. Students will also be given access to our private Facebook group, where they can network with other students and JTF instructors. As an additional perk, we offer our students advanced registration for guest and private workshops.

At this time we do not offer refunds. Once you enroll, you will have a credit for the class you have enrolled for, or the lowest level of class that you have not completed. You will never lose your money and can come back at any time to take the class that you paid for.
