Just The Funny Presents “Grand Opening
Shows” at the Just The Funny Theater
“Improv and Sketch Comedy
now has a home in Miami”

What does Miami
now have in common with
Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and many other great
cities?
Cold winters?
Earthquakes?
A decent education system?
No…
Miami now has its very own
theater and training center for improv and sketch
comedy.
JUST THE
FUNNY, Improv Theater Company, which
brought you the Miami Improv Festival, has just
opened the
Just The Funny Theater,
and will provide South Florida with improv and
sketch comedy, along with training for aspiring
improv actors and sketch writers.
Just The Funny celebrates the
opening of the
Just The Funny Theater,
with its’ Grand Opening Shows at
9:00 pm and 11:00 pm on
Saturday, February 2, 2008.
Just The Funny’s
artistic director,
David Christopher
explains the significance of the occasion: “Opening
our very own theater dedicated to improv and sketch
comedy has been our dream at Just The Funny from day
one, when we started back in 1999, and now we are
thrilled to share our love for improv and sketch
comedy with the public at our new home with our
Grand Opening Shows.
It’s incredible to be able to
have a permanent home, we [Just The Funny] will now
be able to produce the level of shows we have always
wanted to, and we are doing it without raising
prices, while offering our audiences a better
theater experience.”
The
Just The Funny Theater
is located at 3119 Coral Way in Miami (just 6 blocks
East of Miracle Mile), and is a spacious, yet
intimate, 125 seat theater with stadium seating, and
even a VIP box.
Just The Funny will be
presenting shows at the theater weekly (see schedule
on website), and will be offering classes in South
Florida’s only improv training center, featuring 3
levels of adult improv classes, a sketch writing
class, and classes for kids and teens.
Each of the classes concludes
with a student performance and certificate of
completion.
The most prolific and
celebrated improv theatre company in South Florida,
Just The Funny’s cast of comedic actors will present
two interactive shows at 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm
featuring, sketches, parodies, music and improvised
scenes, including everything from “Whose Line is it
Anyway” to “Chicago-style” improv, and it’s all
based on audience suggestions!
Just The Funny dares audiences
to come prepared, by bringing strange and unusual
objects for them to use in the show!
Tickets for the
Grand Opening Shows
are $10.00 for the 9 pm show and $5.00 for the 11 pm
show or $12.00 for both the 9 and 11 pm shows, and

“Saturday
Night Live” meets “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”
is just what you need on the weekends as Just The
Funny, Miami’s home for improv and sketch comedy,
rolls in the laughter Friday and Saturday nights at
9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at the Just The Funny Theater. A Miami-based group of
performers, Just The Funny takes audience input and
creates live comedy sketches on the spot during each
90-minute performance, which keeps audiences rolling
down the aisles in laughter. The actors find
themselves in a variety of situations, scenes, game
show parodies, and musical numbers driven by audience
input and interaction.
Just The
Funny has been performing improv comedy in Miami since
its creation in January 1999.
The founders are a group of veteran improv
performers with a vision of keeping the art of live
improv comedy theatre flourishing in Miami.
In addition to performing improv, Just The
Funny also performs original comedy sketches in the
spirit of shows like Saturday Night Live and Mad
TV. For those interested in learning the art of improv theatre,
Just The Funny teaches improv, sketch writing and
acting classes. In
addition to the group’s weekly scheduled
