DEDE TABAK was born and raised in Miami, Florida, but ventured off  to the exotic land of Fairfield, CT where she studied art history and theater for the last four years. Public scorn, hatred, and many attempted executions have befallen her as a direct result of this decision. She was a member of Fairfield University’s improv troupe, “On the Spot”, for four years and her most recent productions include “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” and “Dead Man Walking: The Play”…no, seriously. She would like to thank Stephen Hawking for writing A Brief History of Time, which inspires her all the time…literally, all the time.

ELISABETH DRAKE would like everyone to know that "improv" spelled backwards is "vorpmi." She grew up all over the South and still misses sweet tea, but she is tickled pink to be part of Just the Funny. She holds her Bachelor's Degree in French from Florida State University, and she also sings soprano, plays the piano and carries a yo-yo with her wherever she goes.  But be warned, fellas: Her one true love is the glamorous insurance industry, from which she pulls down her smooth existence.

ELIZABETH BERRY was discovered by Just the Funny at her high school improv show in 1999, and joined JTF at the ripe age of 17, being the funniest, hottest, under-age improv actress in Miami at the time. Since then she has grown up, but her love for comedy remains. Her theatre credits include, but are not limited to "Gypsy", "Me & My Girl", "Adaptation", "Fortress", and "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie." She now lives in Naples, FL pursuing a degree at Florida Gulf Coast University. Elizabeth is known to do just about anything for a laugh, and we mean anything.

FERNANDO LAO, JR. was born in Fort Campbell Kentucky, and raised in Miami Florida. With the ambition of always wanting to be on a stage, Fernando has been in drama and acting clubs since the ripe age of 14. If that's not enough, you add into
the gene pool impersonations, and sarcasm, and you have yourself a dynamic
and eclectic comedic actor that is just starting to make it in Miami.

GEORGE HERRING is one of the founding members of Just The Funny, and is the group's primary source for badly written comedy that never makes it to the stage.  George taught television production and journalism in Hollywood, FL.  He now works, lives and picks bails of cotton in Richmond, VA, and comes back regularly to perform with JTF.

Characters: Borax the Conqueror, Roger Masters

JENNIFER BUDDIN, one of hell’s belles, recently relocated to South Florida with her husband and dog from Charleston, SC – trading in the historic, gentile life for coconut trees, early bird specials and trying not to dress like a puritan.  Jennifer has performed in over 30 musical and straight plays growing up in Gainesville, GA, and in Charleston.   In 2002, she began improvising at Theatre 99 in Charleston, and has been a student of the form ever since.  She is a founding member of Fishing With Dynamite and Mary Kay Has a Posse, South Carolina’s only all-female comedy improv group.  Jennifer graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Media Communications and actually uses it as co-owner of The Little Black Book for every busy woman, a directory based on word of mouth recommendations from women in 9 cities on the East Coast and growing.

LAUREN ELBAUM started out as a science major at the University of Florida, which made sense because she graduated from MAST Academy. She then returned to South Florida attending Miami Dade College where she got to study what she loves: music and theater. Lauren considers herself one of the luckiest people in the universe. She is currently a student at New World School of the Arts, the College not the high school.  Her recent credits include "The American Dame", "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress", "Once Upon a Mattress" and "Our Town".

LUIS DAVID MADERA is a graduate from Barry University with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre, and has been performing professionally for three years.  His performance credits include "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," "Children of a Lesser God," and "Songs for a New World" with the Miami Stage Company.  He has also performed for the children's theatre at Actor's Playhouse, including "Stuart Little."  Recently, he acted in the independent film "Maybe It All Means Something," and last year performed in the film "Corpses Are Forever."  Luis is happy to be a part of Just the Funny and hopes to continue on his journey towards becoming a successful actor.

Manny Carballea  MANNY CARBALLEA is a native of South Florida, and grew up in Little Havana prior to becoming an official resident of the illustrious and world renown Westchester area. Some of his acting credits include "The Sandbox," "Los Eslcavos del Consumo," "A Postcard from Paris," and more recently "Fuenteovejuna" co-produced by the Hispanic Theater Guild and Belen Jesuit Prep. SHANNON CHAMBERLAIN is a producer of custom television programming for the travel industry and a professional voice over actress.  She discovered improv when her voice over instructor suggested that she take an improv class to enhance her skills, and instantly fell in love with the craft. Shannon believes “improv teaches you to be the calm in the middle of the storm, to think on your feet and to take action without judgment; it should be a required class in school, just like English and math.”  Shannon worked on board cruise ships for 5 years as part of the entertainment staff emceeing shows and hosting events.  She received her BBA from Florida Atlantic University. Shannon makes sure to laugh and have fun every single day, which makes being part of the JTF team a perfect fit.
